Spotlight on Redacting
Failing to redact correctly is one of the most common Corrective Actions for the Quality Care Pharmacy Program.
However, it’s a crucial part of remote assessments, and is important to protect personal information for patients, staff and yourself, and keep in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
When our team receives evidence with identifiable personal details, this evidence is deleted from our system and cannot be considered in the assessment process.
It’s important to go through each assessment question’s redaction requirements carefully, to ensure your assessment is submitted correctly and save you extra work completing a Corrective Action later.
The common mistakes when redacting evidence includes:
* Failing to redact documents
* Forgetting to redact the entire document
* Forgetting to redact parts of photos with visible personal details
* Over-redacting details
* Redacting half the required personal details
* Redacted sections being visible after scanning

Tips for Redacting
- Read each assessment question carefully
- Use a redaction pen or redaction software
- Read this guide from the Federal Court of Australia about electronic document redaction

Question one in the Business Strategy FAQs has been updated with more details about business plans, and more resources for incorporating your risk management plan.
We’ve also added a new question in the Risk Management FAQs (question 3), explaining that additional evidence will be accepted as proof of professional indemnity insurance for employed or contracted health professionals.
