The Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP) is a quality assurance program focused on improving community pharmacy services provided to the public. QCPP supports the ongoing improvement and innovation of business practice in community pharmacies across Australia.
QCPP accredited pharmacies undergo an assessment every two years to ensure their pharmacy meets the Quality Care 2020 Requirements.
The QCPP accredits Australian community pharmacies against the Quality Care Pharmacy Standard which operates within a quality management system. This covers all aspects of the pharmacy business including professional standards, procedures, and best-practice against which community pharmacies are assessed and accredited.
When visiting a QCPP accredited pharmacy, you can be confident that they:
- Provides a high quality, consistent and safe service for patients and consumers
- Strives for a high standard of customer care and best-practice protocols
- Invest in pharmacy assistants and their QCPP approved training in the supply of medicines
- Meets QCPP requirements in areas such as the storage of medicines and the provision of professional services to patients, such as the administering of vaccinations
