Common Corrective Actions
We have compiled a list of common corrective actions from the first round of Quality Care 2020 assessments.

1. Failure to redact personal information
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the personal information we receive, it is critical to ensure no personal details are identifiable in assessment evidence, which protects not only the individuals in question but also the staff and pharmacy itself.

2. Refrigerator temperature monitoring
Refrigerator temperatures must be submitted from the lead up to the date of assessment (as outlined in the assessment question). Failure to provide adequate records is a common corrective action from early assessment data.

3. Human resources records
Insufficient human resources processes or inadequate records of recruitment and termination of employment are common causes of corrective action under Quality Care 2020.

4. Clinical Governance policies
Clinical Governance is a new requirement under Quality Care 2020. Common corrective actions include insufficient business governance agreements, cultural awareness policies and incorrectly completing the Attestation Statement.

5. Emergency procedures
Inadequate procedures on a range of potential emergencies within the pharmacy including fire, robbery and medical emergencies are common corrective actions under Quality Care 2020.
