Did you know that your pharmacy must be accredited for vaccinations?

With pharmacies playing a crucial role in the Covid-19 Vaccination rollout, it’s important to know that you must be accredited at a service level under the Quality Care Pharmacy Program in order to deliver a vaccination service in your pharmacy.

Quality Care accreditation ensures a framework is in place for the ongoing safe and quality delivery of pharmacy services to the Australian public, which remains incredibly important in this high risk environment.

If you are delivering the COVID-19 Vaccination, you must be accredited for Vaccination Services to maintain compliance with your QCPP Accreditation.

If you would like to add Vaccination Services to your QCPP accreditation, you can now complete an Expansion of Services assessment through the QCPP Customer Portal using the steps below.

Apply for your Expansion of Services Assessment

You can now add Vaccination Services using the streamlined Expansion of Services assessment following these steps:

  1. Go to the QCPP Customer Portal under the Expansion of Services tab in the Your Pharmacy Details section.
  2. Create an assessment, confirm your pharmacy details and select all the additional pharmacy services you would like assessed.
  3. Upload all the required evidence and select submit.

How do I know if I am accredited for Vaccination Services?  

You can go online to the QCPP Customer Portal under Historical Assessments and your pharmacy services will be listed in the Final Report. If your pharmacy was last assessed prior to 1 October 2020, please contact the QCPP Support Team for your accreditation details.

What documents and evidence do I need to provide? 

All evidence requirements will be listed in the assessment. Examples include copies of pharmacy policies and procedures, training qualifications, details of the equipment used or photographs of the service delivery area.

What is the turnaround time on an Expansion of Services assessment?

Turnaround times can take up to 10 business days from submission of evidence but will be completed as quickly as possible. To streamline the process, please ensure you provide all required evidence at the time of submission.


We’ve made improvements to the redaction process to ensure that we balance protecting personal information with an accurate QCPP assessment.

We are now allowing staff names as an exception to being redacted - however all other personal information about staff members must be redacted, such as addresses and phone numbers.

Staff names are essential for assessing items such as training records or employment contracts.

The following information must be fully redacted unless specified by the assessment question: 

  • Patient names
  • Personal home addresses
  • Personal phone numbers
  • Personal email addresses
  • Medicare, Concession Card (e.g. Pensioner and Health Care) and Veteran Card details
  • Photos identifying individual

The following information does NOT have to be redacted:

  • Staff names
