Eco-efficiency in pharmacy

QCPP has recently commissioned a report that looks at ways of making your pharmacy more eco-efficient. Regardless of whether you wish to reduce impact on our environment, it is clear that there are some simple ways of reducing impact on your business bottom line.

The report shows that lighting, air-conditioning and registers/computers account for 86% of pharmacy energy costs. The biggest savings pharmacy can make is in reducing the cost of lighting especially through the use of newer LED lighting technology. Also, placement of air-conditioning thermostats often had unintended consequences by unnecessarily over-working pharmacy air-conditioning systems.

QCPP looks forward to providing further advice to pharmacy on the outcomes of this report in future communications. Click here to access the Green Ochre Eco Efficiency Audit Trial report.
